Parrish Medical Center (PMC) knows that in today's healthcare environment employee productivity is imperative. As with many organizations, PMC needed to realize more efficiency out of its financial systems and resources. The medical center was looking for an integrated approach that would allow it to control both its operating budget and management report processes in one system. PMC wanted the finance team to be able to make decisions throughout the budget process, rather than simply maintain this process.
PMC's previous systems were decentralized and required the finance team to generate data from separate modules to perform its analyses. In addition, PMC had difficulty maintaining its monthly
variance and productivity reporting alongside a budget process. The interrelations between the two in terms of budgeted data and productivity standards, made the monthly variance report a moving
target that had to be done manually and was error prone. When the medical center finalized its budget, it took weeks to integrate the results into the old reporting system.

St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center
St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center (SJHHC) is a 431-bed comprehensive medical care institution providing quality health care to central New York. SJHHC utilizes StrataJazz as an integrated approach to operating budgeting, reimbursement planning and management reporting. One of the main reason that SJHHC was interested in StrataJazz was to re-vamp their Management Reporting process. Their previous reporting structure used to be a manual, paper-based process. On a monthly basis, their Finance team would distribute printouts among executives and managers in a static form that could not be tailored to the changing needs of these recipients. Requests for consolidations or additional information had to be handled on a case by case basis.
With StrataJazz, managers and executives at SJHHC can now run their own Productivity and Management reports at any given time. They can consolidate departments or produce separate reports for multiple departments with one click. In addition, StrataJazz established a process of variance tracking and analysis, using a workflow process that sends reports through various levels of review. Reporting at St. Joseph's became a completely paperless process. With StrataJazz, executives and department managers at SJHHC can access the information they need at the click of a button.
